I’ve thought up a lot of things to write about lately, but my mind goes blank every time I sit down with the chance to type two-handed. I’ve also thought about something to write a few times just to realize that I already blogged it. Huh.

When I was pregnant and bemoaning the defection of a vast number of my brain cells, my post-pregnant friends often mentioned that those brain cells never come back. It’s true. My brain is significantly less functional than it was even when I was pregnant. So, watch out for repeat blogs and comments; I apologize in advance.

Soren did awesome on our flights, sleeping through every one. The last one, he was the only baby/young child on the plane who didn’t cry. Unfortunately for us, he slept so much during our travel home that he didn’t sleep so great last night and he’s incredibly cranky today. I have him in the Moby, and he keeps waking up every few minutes to weep piteously for a moment and then drift back off to sleep. He has a diaper rash and terrible baby acne and he’s really stressed out after over a week of classes and travel and drama. My baby tends to be mellow, but he does NOT appreciate change.

In other news, I’ve done almost nothing for my classes so far this semester. This means that I am screwed. When I sent my professors emails claiming that I would keep up and work hard to miss as little as possible, I meant it. That was back before Soren was born. Now, I regret those words, as I do not care at all about grad school. Not even a little bit. I’m mostly looking forward to my internship, but half of Coeur d’Alene has swine flu, and as much as I’d like to catch it and pass it on to the baby… well, no, I actually wouldn’t like that. I intend to get the vaccine after it’s been out for a little bit, but I’m not much for rushing in to get a shot that’s new to the market. Emergen-C is my alternate plan of attack. Also, the kick ass froggy humidifier that a business partner of Louis’ had sent to us while we were gone.

Update on Cranky Baby: Enya appears to be helping, and he is currently snoring away.

I should take this opportunity to do homework. But do you know what’s more interesting than homework? EVERYTHING. So, I think I’m going to do some of that instead.

Once upon a time, I was born, grew up a little bit, did some stuff, and now I have a blog. I deeply respect the Oxford comma.
